World BPO/ITO Summit 2010
Offshoring Platform for CIOs/CFOs
New York - July 28-29, 2010
"Right people, Right place, Right skills, Right costs"
|
|
In summing up WBPO/ITO Summit 2009, it has become clear that part of the "New Normal" lies in a seamless integration between IT and Operations.
This is reflected in the merger of ITO and BPO into a converged discipline. On the topic of work going offshore,
there is widespread accord that the resulting efficiency improvements will allow better use of skilled US professionals to gain productivity,
quality and innovation improvements – thereby resulting in topline growth. The CIO of a global Fortune 10 company recently said
"In 2009 we re-competed almost $1 billion of existing outsourcing work in order to approach offshoring as an opportunity for innovative business
model change, as compared with looking at BPO/ITO through the inherently limited lens of a labor arbitrage only play." |
